Course Flyover

Hole #1 - The opening hole is a relatively straightforward par 5 but challenges the player to hit an accurate tee shot. Players must negotiate a large lake that borders the left side of the fairway all the while staying out of the fairway bunker that lurks 250 yards off the tee. This two tiered green requires an accurate approach shot that will be rewarded with a birdie opportunity.

Hole #2 - A long iron or fairway wood to the bottom of the hill will leave you with a middle to short iron approach shot. Longer hitters may decide to hit driver to cut the comer of the dogleg. However, this will bring the out of bounds to the right into play but they will be left with a short wedge shot to the green.

Hole #3 - This is another dogleg right uphill par four. A long iron or fairway wood to the bottom of the hill leaves you with a middle to short iron approach shot. Long hitters may try to fade a driver into the green. If they accidentally hit the drive straight or hook it, out of bounds and bunkers await on the left.

Hole #4 - This is a long dogleg right par four. Fading a driver with the shape of the hole will leave a middle-iron approach shot. You can try to cut the corner of the dogleg to leave yourself with a short-iron approach. One of the most difficult pin positions on this green is back left.

Hole #5 - A long straight drive is very important on this hole. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to reach the green with your second shot. After a good drive, you will be left with a long iron for your second shot. A large bunker protects the left side of the green, but there is room in front of the green for your approach shot.

Hole #6 - This is a short par three guarded by a creek in front of the green. Bunkers surrounding the green will catch any errant tee shots. However, this is a good birdie hole, and most of the hole-in-ones on the golf course occur on this hole.

Hole #7 - Hit it long and straight off the tee to reach the green in two. Bunkers on the left and right of the fairway will catch any poor tee shots. If you decide to lay-up, be careful of the large bunker to the left of the lay-up area. Otherwise you will be left with an extremely long bunker shot to the green, a very difficult shot.

Hole #8 - This is a long par three requiring your tee shot to carry a large pond and a large bunker in front of the green. There is a bailout area to the left of the green to take the water out of play. Once you do reach the green the challenge is not over: you will find a lot of slopes and undulations on this green.

Hole #9 - Poorly hit drives to the left will find bunkers and out of bounds from the narrow landing area. Drives to the right will be in jail in the trees. A good tee shot will leave you an approach shot to a green surrounded by bunkers. There is out of bounds right behind the back of the green.

Hole #10 - A large waste bunker on the right side of the fairway and a small fairway bunker on the left will test you on your drive. You are then left with two choices for your second shot. A fairway wood will get you close to the green for a short pitch shot and a good chance for birdie.

Hole #11 - This long par four is slightly uphill and usually plays into the wind. Out of bounds borders both sides of the fairway. After a good drive, you will be left with a middle to long iron shot. Bunkers on the left and right create a narrow area for those players who like to hit run-up shots.

Hole #12 - The tee shot calls for a draw around the dogleg. After a good drive you will be left with a middle iron for your approach shot. Club selection for this shot may be difficult since it is slightly uphill. If you come up short, you will be left with an awkward pitch shot out of some mounds in front of the green.

Hole #13 - The entire left side of the hole is out of bounds, with the boundary only about 10 yards from the edge of the green. This green is almost 40 yards deep so you may be left with a long putt if you are not close to the pin.

Hole #14 - This dogleg right par four is a good birdie hole. If you avoid the bunkers on the left side of the fairway and the waste area on the right you will be left with a wedge into the green. If you hit your approach close shot the pin, you will be left with a fairly easy putt for birdie, unless the flag is in front and you are above the hole.

Hole #15 - A back right pin is very difficult. Tee shots missed to the right of the green will catch a slope and result in a long pitch shot back up the hill. A front left pin is much easier. The left part of the green is open in front, so a miss-hit shot has a chance to roll up onto the green.

Hole #16 - Play it smart and hit a fade off the tee that moves with the shape of the hole. A good drive will leave you with a middle iron approach shot. The front of the green is open and receptive to run-up shots. Try to avoid the large bunker to the right of the green.

Hole #17 - You can hit driver off this tee if you make sure to draw the ball around the dogleg. A nice draw will leave you with a short iron into the green. If the ball goes straight, it will probably go through the fairway into some mounds leaving you with an awkward stance for your second shot

Hole #18 - This finishing hole requires three good shots to leave yourself an opportunity to end your day on a high note. Large fairway bunkers guard the right side while the large lake on the left will tempt your golf ball. A well-placed second shot will need to avoid the small pond right and the dense trees on the left. The approach shot must navigate the greenside bunkers, make sure you look to see where the pin is located on this subtly sloping green to ensure you end your round with a birdie.
